This script uses a pfx file to generate points,1 point polys, curces, 2 point poly chains, polys , plates or tubes which track the motion of each particle.
A pfx file is the saved motion from a particle emitter in layout
There is a scene in the download to give you an idea of whats going on, save the pfx file from that scene and in modeler run the script and select that pfx file.
Part names for the root polys are generated automatically with these you can name your own surfaces
Single point polys may be generated if a particle doesn`t move between frames, use the statistics panel to delete single vertex polys
Be careful of picking any old pfx file, you could generate a lot of polys which will take some time.
The basic rule for hair guide generation is to set your emitter to x particles per frame and to set the particle limit to x as well. Particles can be set to emit by object surface or vertex. Then you can place winds to style the hair
For any other uses just experiment but be aware of those numbers, ie 500 particles over 100 frames would mean 50000 polys
This script lets you create endomorphs from your different hair results however you need to be careful. To create an endomorph dont change any particle generation settings or frame amounts between PFX generations, this is to ensure that the amount of polys in both hair sets are the same. You can change any motion parameters you wish.
You need to ensure that you do not generate any 1 vertex polys either. These occur when a particle does not move between frames and are most likely to occur at the beginning of the particles life. I`ve found that adding a small amount of explosion to the emitter helps to avoid this.
To create an endomorph put your base hair into layer one and create a new morph map for it. Paste your desired morph into layer two, select layer one then add select layer two. Now you can run the script, when it has finished delete layer two and you should be left with your base hair and its morph
